PHOTOS: The Scoop on Jessa Duggar's Wedding Ice Cream Sundae Bar
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Duggar, who’s now officially known as Jessa Seewald, served ice cream sundaes to over 1,000 guests at their reception in Bentonville, Arkansas.
The bride, 22, is one of the stars of TLC’s hit reality show 19 Kids & Counting, and had a fairly straightforward reason for forgoing the typical multi-tiered confection. “I don’t really like cake,” she told PEOPLE when she was planning her wedding. “We wanted ice cream sundaes instead.” (And besides — are we the only ones who think that cutting 1,000 slices of cake sounds like a serious logistical hassle?)
The couple assembled a build-your-own sundae bar with several toppings including fresh strawberries, caramel sauce and an assortment of candies such as Kit Kats and Reese’s Pieces.
Looks like the newlyweds dig mint, since Andes candies as well as mint-flavored M&Ms and Oreo cookies were all served as toppings, and the groom requested mint chocolate-chip ice cream for his sundae (the bride chose chocolate).

Rather than any over-the-top wedding decorations (we’re looking at you, upside-down wedding cake!), the dessert table had a simple, rustic look that complemented the outdoor setting: Mason jars with hand-lettered labels sat atop unfinished wooden crates trimmed with white burlap ribbon.
Jessa’s been spotted wearing cowboy boots and also featured the countrified footwear in her decor, along with a whimsically carved log and fresh flowers:
The couple is currently honeymooning at an undisclosed location and the new Mrs. Seewald celebrated her 22nd birthday yesterday: Here’s hoping she got to enjoy another round of ice cream.
