New York chef Daniel Holzman is a brave man: He agreed to prepare the infamous, three-ingredient ‘sketti’ recipe that Mama June prepares for her daughter Honey Boo Boo.

The video is the fourth installment of “Real Chefs Cook Dumb Recipes,” Eater‘s delightful new series.

Holzman, the chef at Meatball Shop, puts on a game face to work with the three humble ingredients that the recipe requires: butter (or margarine), ketchup and overcooked spaghetti.

“Our goal here is to be as authentic as possible. And if Mama June says to cook it for 20 minutes, we’re gonna cook it for 20 minutes,” Holzman says, before plopping the dry spaghetti in a pot of boiling water.

“I feel like if we’re going to cook her food, we should learn a little bit about the woman, Mama June,” Holzman says.

He Googles her on his phone.

“She does not like lavender, or expired food.”

If you want to prepare sketti yourself, simply cook a pound of spaghetti. Microwave ¾ cup ketchup with ¾ cup butter. Then pour over the pasta and live your best life.

For Holzman, the sketti is love at first bite: “It’s delicious.”
