The wait is almost over.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will open at Universal Studios Hollywood on April 7, 2016, the park announced Tuesday.
Inspired by J.K. Rowling’s world-famous novels, the land “will be faithful to the visual landscape of the fiction and films, including Hogwarts castle,” according to the press release.
While the castle will be the attraction’s focal point, visitors will enter through an archway into Hogsmeade, a “quaint local village” where “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey”—the land’s signature ride—and an outdoor coaster “Flight of the Hippogriff” will be located.
The land will also feature pubs and stores from the books and films, such as Hog’s Head and the Three Broomsticks (where Harry and his pals often sipped on butterbeer in the novels). Honeydukes, Ollivanders, Zonko’s Joke Shop and more will also offer visitors a chance to stock up on candy, wands, robes and more.
