The results are finally in — and no, we’re not talking the 2016 Presidential Election.
With a little over a week left before horror movie buffs and costume connoisseurs alike can finally wax poetic about all things Halloween, product review site Influenster has taken on the impressive task of breaking down state candy favorites in the United States by surveying over 40,000 Influensters … and the results are interesting, to say the least.
In an overwhelming landslide, candy corn came out on top in a whopping five states (Oregon, Wyoming, Tennessee, Texas and South Carolina) while other states scored candy staples like Sour Patch Kids (New Jersey) and Swedish Fish (Pennsylvania).
As you can already guess, the Internet has a lot of feelings about the survey results:

But there’s hope for America. Critics of Influenster’s map may find comfort in this interactive guide from CandyStore.com listing the most popular Halloween candy of the past eight years.
The results are a tad bit different in the grand scheme of things, with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups coming out on top rather than candy corn, and Assorted Salt Water Taffy in California instead of Life Savers, as reported by Influenster.
Regardless of the fist bumps and downright outrage both surveys may cause among candy enthusiasts, we have a feeling it won’t deter any Halloween revelers from satisfying their sweet tooth.
