Want to throw the best Fourth of July bash on the block? We thought so.

To help, we enlisted event planner extraordinaire (and the woman behind the lavish nuptials of Kim and Kayne) Sharon Sacks to help us pick the perfect party décor.

“The day is all about friendships, fun and old-fashioned patriotism, making it the perfect occasion for a festive summertime bash,” Sacks says. Whether treating your guests to a big backyard BBQ or a cozy picnic, the president and founder of LA-based Sacks Productions chooses to mix patriotic with practical. It’s a great way to “celebrate the amazing country that we call home,” she says.

“Getting your guests in the spirit starts well before they enter your home,” says Sacks. “There is nothing like receiving a gorgeous invitation to get in the holiday mood!” Her pick: This red, white and blue Fort Henry invitation.

“My Fourth of July gatherings are more intimate affairs,” Sacks says. “My aim is to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. I love outdoor picnics with gorgeous Americana-style blankets, like VHC Brands Old Glory Throw, where guests can lounge.”

Sacks suggests using a cool condiment set as a utensil holder or makeshift vase. This Galvanized Metal Star version adds a pop of patriotism. Her favorite flower to fill these buckets with: “gorgeous daisies.”
