The coffee and donut chain confirmed to PEOPLE that they are now selling DIY Donut Kits at select stores across the country. The kits are a great way to keep everyone entertained while in self-isolation at home — especially if you have kids. They are available in small and large sizes, so you can really go all-in if you want. The small size contains four donut rings and costs $5.99, while the larger has nine and will set you back $9.99. Each pack includes plain donuts and a variety of sprinkles and frosting options like strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla. That means you can mix and match toppings, or even spread one donut with multiple frosting flavors. Whatever you choose to do, we won't judge! Dunkin’ Now Sells Bags of Bacon Strips for On-the-Go Snacking http://www.facebook.com/BowersDonuts/posts/2885090268211018 In a statement on their blog, Dunkin’ explained the reason they started selling the new kits. It began when a customer in Concord, Calif Norma Valkenaar asked franchisee Matt Cobo whether she could bring home fresh donuts, frosting, and sprinkles for her two nephews. He cobbled together a kit for her to bring back home and liked the idea so much that his sister started surprising family and friends with makeshift kits at their doorsteps and texting them, "You've been Dunk'd!" “This is our small way of trying to brighten someone’s day,” said Cobo in the blog post. “The simple joy of getting to create your own donut can make kids light up, and if we can be a part of creating that moment, that makes us happy.” Here’s What Chain Restaurants Like McDonald’s, Domino’s, and Chipotle Are Doing Amid Coronavirus Crisis Baskin Robbins The company is also selling Baskin-Robbins DIY Sundae Kits, which come with every single thing you may need to build your perfect sundae right at home — and we mean everything. Each one includes your choice of two quarts of ice cream, one wet topping (like hot fudge or caramel sauce), two dry toppings (like rainbow sprinkles and cookie dough), a full can of whipped cream, and cherries to top it all off. The kits also come with five sundae cups, spoons, and napkins so you barely need to do any work to enjoy your sundae from home. Each one is available for $24.99 at participating Baskin-Robbins locations nationwide for a limited time. WATCH: People's Pantry: Calming Cakes Like many fast-food restaurants around the country, Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins are offering options to limit person-to-person contact in order to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Customer can order their food ahead of time for pick-up in-store, curbside, or via drive-thru, where possible. Pricing and availability for the DIY kits may vary by location though, so we recommend checking in with your local store before making the trip.
