Chef José Andrés Opens a Restaurant at Disney World — See Inside!
The celebrity chef celebrated the opening of the fifth location of his flagship Spanish restaurant at Disney Springs on Thursday.
On Thursday, chef José Andrés celebrated the long-awaited opening of his Spanish tapas restaurant Jaleo in Disney Springs. Andrés becomes the latest celebrity chef to open an establishment at the outdoor shopping and dining hub, which is part of the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, with Jaleo joining Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy! and Masaharu Morimoto‘s Morimoto Asia.
This is the fifth location of his flagship restaurant, which first opened in Washington, D.C. in 1993 as one of the pioneers of the tapas concept in the United States. “I am so excited to be bringing Jaleo to Disney Springs to share the spirit and flavor of my beloved Spain with people from around the world,” Andrés said at the opening party on Thursday night.
The restaurant boasts a vibrant aesthetic, with the tables and chairs sporting the red-and-yellow colors of the Spanish flag.
The menu features his signature classics like gambas al ajillo (we have his at-home recipe if you can’t swing a trip to Disney), croquetas, patatas bravas, pan con tomate, as well as a wide selection of Spanish meats, cheeses and wines. Each night, a random selection of two out of five paella options on the menu will also be served.
Adjacent to the entrance is a quick service spot, Pepe—the first brick-and-mortar location of the chef’s popular D.C. food truck—which will serve sandwiches, salads, gazpacho and soft serve for guests on the go.
With Disney now under his belt, Andrés’ next expansion is on the international level, with a planned opening of a sixth location of Jaleo in Dubai in the coming months.
