Candy Corn Caramel Apples Are the Halloween Heroes We Deserve

When it comes to candy corn, we are a nation divided. In the words of Danielle Staub from the Real Housewives of New Jersey seasons 1 and 2, "You either love me or you hate me. There is no in between with me." Candy corn is the Danielle Staub of candy.

And while in its purest form it is gravely polarizing, we think we've come up with a way to make it palatable for all the children of America — nay, the world.

When you melt down the candies in a saucepan, it's not only the most fun thing ever, but it relinquishes that questionable waxy texture that is so often reviled and yields a sweet, slightly caramel-y flavor. Plus, it turns a beautiful bright orange color that's perfect for Halloween.
