Ahhhh, autumn. A time when we can slow down, cozy up and most importantly: drink apple cider. While there’s nothing wrong with drinking cider straight, there is so much right with drinking it spiked.

So we concocted a simple, sweet caramel-y version that rings in fall in a way that will make you wish summer never comes. From now on, if anyone asks how you like them apples, tell them — with bourbon, dude.

(Note: if you live in Los Angeles — like us — and it’s still sweltering, just make this drink over ice and try not to get scarf-envy.)

Caramel Bourbon Apple Cider
Makes 1 cocktail

5 oz hot apple cider
1 oz bourbon
½ oz butterscotch schnapps
Dusting of cinnamon
Apple wedge garnish

1. Add first two ingredients to a mug and top with warm apple cider.
2. Dust with cinnamon and garnish with a round slice of green apple.
3. Hide under a blanket for as long as you wish.
