Anheuser-Busch

It’s not every day we say this, but sometimes being an adult rocks. Exhibit A: alcoholic soda.

Anheuser-Busch released their first hard root beer on Monday and the boozy drink promises a “full-flavored, well-balanced take on a favorite classic taste.”

Best Damn Root Beer—though not the only alcoholic root beer available but the first one from the Budweiser brewer’s new brand, Best Damn Brewing Co—contains 5.5% alcohol compared to Budweiser’s 5%.

“We’ve seen a growing consumer interest in sweeter taste profiles, and we jumped at the opportunity to brew an easy-drinking, hard root beer,” a vice president for Anheuser-Busch Rashmi Patel said in a statement. “People like beers that are approachable, down-to-earth and don’t take themselves too seriously, so Best Damn Brewing Co. aims to bring all the flavor without any of the fuss.”

The new ale—which was aged on real vanilla beans during brewing—is available in six-pack bottles, 16 oz. cans and on tap.

All we can say is the ice cream float-loving child inside of us is very happy to be 21 and over today.
