Proof That the Duggars Know a Thing or Two About Food
JILL'S BANANA BREAD
"We love making this banana bread and sharing it with our friends and neighbors," Jill says of this sweet treat topped with melted butter and cinnamon sugar. After whipping it up with her son Israel "about once a week", the expectant mom—who recently returned to Central America to continue her ministry work—sends it off with her husband Derick when he is on home visits.
JESSA'S PRETZEL CHEESECAKE
Though she admits it "isn't a healthy dessert," this salty-sweet cheesecake – layered with buttery pretzels, cream cheese, berries and jam – satisfied the mom-to-be's pregnancy cravings.
JESSA'S GLAZED PUMPKIN SCONES
Packed with pecans, pumpkin purée, and cinnamon, these easy-to-make scones will likely become a new Duggar family favorite. "A friend shared this awesome recipe with us, and Jana came over to my house and made them today," Jessa Seewald captioned a picture of a fresh batch before generously sharing the recipe with her followers.
JILL'S NO-BAKE CHEESECAKE
Cheesecake can be more intimidating to make than, say, funfetti cake straight from the box, but the Duggar daughter's recipe only requires four ingredients – plus, it's no bake. Jill made the dessert this season for her mother-in-law, Cathy Dillard, who was traveling for cancer treatments.
JESSA & BEN'S WEDDING ICE CREAM SUNDAE BAR
When you have more than 1,000 wedding guests, you have to think outside the cake. Jessa Duggar – who became Jessa Seewald in November 2014 – served ice cream sundaes for dessert at her wedding reception in Bentonville, Arkansas. "I don't really like cake," she told PEOPLE when she was planning the ceremony. The build-your-own bar had and impressive array of toppings, including strawberries, caramel sauce and chocolate candy.
A DUGGAR FAMILY PIZZA PARTY
For the Duggars, 8 lbs. of tomato sauce and 7 lbs. of cheese are just normal ingredients for a family pizza party, where pies were topped with everything from pepperoni and sausage to chopped tomatoes and pickles. "That's a Duggar thing, we just all love pickles," son James explained. (We won't knock it 'til we try it.)
JILL'S DAL BHAT
The Duggar daughter and her older sister Jana spent an evening preparing dal bhat – a traditional Nepali lentil and rice dish – for Jill's husband, Derick Dillard, who lived and did missionary work in Nepal. "Our family is known for making tater-tot casserole," Jana admitted in the episode. "This dish, though, is not anything like that. It has a lot more spices that go into it and it's a lot more consuming."
AN OLIVE GARDEN BABY SHOWER
Unlimited breadsticks = unlimited love. A very pregnant Jill gathered with Derick (and his "church family") for an intimate baby shower at an Olive Garden in their native state of Arkansas.
JILL & DERICK'S WEDDING TREATS
With more than 1,000 guests at their June 2014 wedding, Jill and Derick had to think big. That meant whipping up more than 600 cupcakes, 3,000 chocolate-chip cookies and 3,000 root beer floats.
