A brilliant win on the dance floor. A sad story of abuse that led to an inspiring story of resilience. A hilarious anecdote from an Oscar winner about a mortifying moment at an afterparty.

It was ladies’ week on PEOPLE.com, as Meryl Davis, Pamela Anderson and Jennifer Lawrence got readers talking, for quite different reasons. Their stories were among the five that got the strongest reactions on the site this week.

Check them out below, along with two other stories that provoked, respectively, warmth and outrage. And let us know what you think of every story by clicking on the icons at the bottom.

She took home gold from the Sochi Olympics. And now, Meryl Davis will have to make more room in her trophy cabinet after winning the 18th season of Dancing with the Stars this week, outlasting Amy Purdy and Candace Cameron Bure for the prize. Along the way, she gave her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, his first win as a pro. “So proud of @maksimc. So lucky to have gone on this ride with you,” she wrote on Instagram. “It means so much,” he said. “If you do it with Meryl, it’s a dream come true.”

The “Wow” story of the week came from Wheaton, Illinois, where Lauren Keppel surprised her mother, Amy Wagner – who has ovarian cancer – with a very special 56th birthday present. Lauren organized a flash mob of 50 of Wagner’s closest friends and family from five different states and got them to dance to “The Best of My Love.” The video is astonishing, and the whole stunt left Wagner feeling blessed. “It is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me,” she said. “I just love them all so much.”

Provoking the most anger in readers this week was a shockingly horrific and tragic story from Carson, California, where three young girls between 2 months and 3 years old were found dead – allegedly at the hand of their mother. Carol Coronado, 30, was arrested on suspicion of murder. According to a neighbor, Coronado had called her own mother earlier in the day and said she was going crazy.

The saddest story of the week was Pamela Anderson‘s surprising, heartbreaking revelation that she’d been sexually abused as a girl. “I did not have an easy childhood. Despite loving parents, I was molested from age 6 by a female babysitter,” the former Baywatch star said at the Cannes Film Festival. She also revealed that she had been raped by a man when she was 12. What saved her life, she added, was her love of animals. “I vowed to protect them and only them,” she said. “I prayed to the whales with my feet in the ocean, my only real friends until I had children.”

Finally, it was Jennifer Lawrence, as she so often does, who provided the week’s best comic relief. In an interview (actually taped in April) on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the Oscar winner revealed that her decision to go out and party after this year’s Academy Awards didn’t end too well. She ended up vomiting outside Guy Oseary and Madonna’s party, to the bemusement of a famous onlooker. “I was in such bad condition,” Lawrence said, “and I look behind me while I’m puking, and Miley Cyrus is there like, ‘Get it together.’ ”
