Woman Arrested After Calling 911 About Bad Chinese Food
The Ohio woman was charged with misuse of 911
We’ve all been there: All you want to do is spend the night in with some takeout, so you order Chinese food but then you end up profoundly dissatisfied. Perhaps the egg rolls are soggy or, worse, the wonton soup has spilled all over the scallion pancakes.
When a 44-year-old Ohio woman was unhappy with her order, she didn’t simply toss it and order pizza – she called 911.
According to WKYC, Tracey McCloud called the police from the inside of Main Moon Chinese Restaurant, located in Alliance, Ohio, to say that the food was not “up to par for her liking.”
Seeing as the call did not qualify as an emergency, McCloud was arrested for misuse of 911, a misdemeanor.
She’ll appear in Alliance Municipal Court on July 10. Until then, local police are reminding Alliance residents to only call 911 in the case of serious emergencies, so as not to delay dispatchers from people who actually need help.
