Virginia Bride Allegedly Embezzled Over $93,000 to Pay for Her Wedding and Butt Lift
A Virginia bride’s plan to pull off the wedding of her dreams backfired when she was arrested for allegedly embezzling over $93,000 from the company she worked at to pay for her big day.
On Wednesday, Vanessa Cline, 32, was taken into custody after the owner of No Limits Construction in Fredericksburg was contacted by his credit card company “informing him that one of his accounts was going to be closed due to lack of payment,” Stafford Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Police say that’s when the owner began looking into the incident. He later learned that Cline, his bookkeeper, had allegedly made a plethora of unauthorized personal purchases, including a wedding dress for $2000 and a wedding planner for $25,000.

Authorities claim Cline didn’t stop there. The bride also allegedly paid over $7000 for a butt lift by Elite Plastic Surgery in Miami, Florida — using the company card, according to the news release.
In addition, Cline allegedly purchased clothing, perfume, furniture, plane tickets, an ATV and forged five checks totaling nearly $10,000.

Police say Cline’s alleged crime comes a year after the company’s former bookkeeper pleaded guilty to embezzling at least $150,000 between January 2016 and January 2018, according to the news release. Cline was hired as the replacement.
Following her arrest, Cline was charged with five counts of embezzlement, five counts of forgery and five counts of uttering.
The news release states she was incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional jail on an $8,000 bond.
A lawyer for Cline could not immediately be found.
