Police in Jersey City, New Jersey, are looking for the person who fired the stray bullet that struck a toddler in the face on Saturday as he sat in his family’s parked car.
Police sources confirm to PEOPLE that the 1-year-old boy, Mina Beshay, was shot while the car was idling outside a post office. Mina’s father and 5-year-old sister were in the car but were unharmed while his mother was retrieving a package, the sources say.
The bullet pierced one of the car’s windows before striking Mina, sources confirm.
