Shia LaBeouf was arrested on Friday evening in Austin for public intoxication, an Austin police official confirms to PEOPLE.

According to the official, LaBeouf was drunk in the street on 6th – an area of the city popular for its bars and nightlife – when he was arrested, and is currently in the process of being booked.

The actor was arrested without the use of force, but was somewhat belligerent and uncooperative, the official says.

It is not the first time the former Transformers star has dealt with legal issues. As recently as June, LaBeouf was arrested at a Broadway show for acting disorderly and being verbally abusive.

A week after that arrest, he sought treatment for alcohol addiction and plead guilty to the charges in September.

According to Access Hollywood he was later released after posting bail.

Representatives for LaBeouf have yet to respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
