Seattle Sounders MLS star Marco Pappa was stabbed last month during a fight in his Seattle apartment with his girlfriend, former Miss Washington USA Stormy Keffeler, according to police records.

Keffeler, who is facing aggravated assault charges, was intoxicated and covered in blood when police arrived at Pappa’s apartment on Dec. 17, 2015, according to reports obtained by PEOPLE.

Blood spatter also adorned the apartment’s walls and floors, according to authorities, and a kitchen knife stained with blood was recovered during their investigation.

The knife had no fingerprints on it, records show.

Pappa sustained a 3-inch stab wound to the torso for which he underwent corrective surgery.

But police say Pappa refused to name Keffeler during interrogations, claiming she had nothing to do with his injuries.

Police claim that Keffeler’s story changed during questioning, and that during the initial 911 call they received from her, she told them, “I’ve had an accident at my boyfriend’s apartment.”

Later, she told police she had no idea how her boyfriend’s injuries occurred.

Police are continuing with their investigation, and court records did not indicate whether Keffeler has retained an attorney for her impending defense.
