Redmond O’Neal, who remains in police custody, was formally charged with one felony count of heroin possession Tuesday.

Redmond, 24, who was brought into court behind a large wire cage and was wearing a blue jail jumpsuit, appeared for an arraignment Tuesday, but it was postponed until April 24. The judge set his bail at $75,000.

The troubled son of Oscar-nominated actor Ryan O’Neal and actress Farrah Fawcett, who’s currently hospitalized and battling cancer, was arrested Sunday morning at a Castaic, Calif., jail parking lot. Redmond is currently serving probation for a June 2008 DUI and drug possession conviction, and is also facing drug charges in another case, which he pleaded not guilty to less than two weeks ago.

Redmond reportedly was kicked out of rehab last week, but prosecutors could not confirm details and would only say he faces a judge in the alleged matter on Wednesday.

A lawyer for Redmond had no comment.
