Crime Redmond O'Neal Faces Up to Three Years in Prison The son of ailing actress Farrah Fawcett is found in violation of probation after allegedly using drugs again By Ken Lee Published on April 10, 2009 03:50 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Whittle/Splash News Online Redmond O’Neal, it appears, has run out of second chances. A Los Angeles judge ruled Friday that O’Neal, 24, has violated his probation. O’Neal faces up to three years in state prison, the L.A. County District Attorney’s office confirms. Sentencing is set for April 17. “Mr. O’Neal was recently discharged from a residential treatment facility after testing positive for meth and because traces of heroin were found in his room,” DA spokeswoman Jane Robison says. “Because of that, the judge terminated his Prop. 36 program” which allows drug offenders a chance to receive treatment instead of time behind bars. O’Neal, son of ailing actress Farrah Fawcett and Oscar-nominated actor Ryan O’Neal, has battled drug addiction for years. Redmond was most recently arrested last weekend for allegedly bringing heroin into a jail parking lot. He is currently on probation stemming from a DUI and drug possession case last June. He remains in custody and is being held without bail. A lawyer for Redmond had no comment.
