Police in California say that an investigation into the near-fatal beating of a 9-year-old girl led them to a storage locker in Redding, where detectives recovered the bodies of the child’s two siblings.
In a statement, Redding Police confirm that the two children – ages 3 and 5 – were found dead on Friday.
Police have not disclosed when or where they think the children were slain.
According to the statement, the emaciated 9-year-old girl is still listed in critical condition after undergoing surgery over the weekend to repair several fractures and other injuries.

Police have arrested Tami Joy Huntsman, 39, and Gonzalo Curiel, 17, on charges of child abuse, torture and mayhem, the statement reads. They could also face murder charges.
Both are being held on $1 million bail.
According to police, Huntsman is related to the three victims, but police did not divulge how.
The victims’ names are also being withheld.
