Rapper T.I., Wife Arrested on Drug Charge
The Grammy winner is released on bail; he's still on probation in a weapons case
Rapper T.I. and his wife were released on $10,000 bail early Thursday morning after their arrests on drug possession charges in West Hollywood.
T.I., who is still on probation after serving prison time in a federal weapons case, was arrested late Wednesday night during a traffic stop on Sunset Boulevard when deputies smelled marijuana coming from his vehicle, says sheriff’s spokeswoman Nicole Nishida.
The 29-year-old rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., and his wife, Tameka Cottle, 36, were booked for investigation of possessing a controlled substance and posted bail at 4 a.m.
Under the terms of his probation he was ordered not to commit any crimes in federal, state or local jurisdictions and barred from illegally possessing a controlled substance.
