Granite Falls, Washington, police are searching for a man they suspect of fatally shooting another man before burning and attempting to bury his body, PEOPLE confirms.
Andrew Spencer was last seen alive on Nov. 3 and authorities believe they discovered his burned remains on Nov. 11, according to a press release from the Granite Falls police.
The suspect in the case is George Hatt Jr., 49, who witnesses said had an altercation with Spencer because he believed he robbed his home, the press release states.
Spencer s alleged remains have been sent to the medical examiner for identification. The autopsy will take place today, the press release states.

Authorities believe Hatt and his girlfriend fled from Washington to California last week, according to the press release.
Hatt is considered armed and dangerous, the release states.
Spencer s girlfriend says she last spoke to Spencer after they had an argument on Nov. 3, according to KIROTV.
“‘I love you so much baby.’ That s the last text I got from him and the last time I d seen him,” Stephanie Burnside told the local station.
Burnside searched the local woods with the Snohomish County Sheriff s Office and Spencer s family. She told KIROTV that she s still seeking answers.
I will never stop looking. We need some answers, it can t be left like this, Burnside said.
