The man who allegedly stabbed Nicki Minaj‘s tour manager, De’Von Pickett, to death has now been charged with murder.

Pierce Boykin, 31, was arrested Feb. 23 after he allegedly stabbed Pickett outside of Che Bar & Grill in Philadelphia on Feb. 18. He also injured another member of the rapper’s crew, Eric Parker, according to NBC10.

Pickett and Parker, both 29, were with a few friends outside of the bar to escort a female bartender to her car. When a group of men approached the woman, Parker asked her if she was okay, which prompted the fight.

Pickett was stabbed in the torso, while Parker suffered stab wounds on his left arm and side. They were both then rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where Pickett was pronounced dead. Parker survived the attack and is in fair condition.

They were in town to work on Minaj’s “The Pinkprint Tour,” which will launch on March 16 in Sweden.

“They were all here for [Minaj],” Pickett’s cousin told NBC10. “I guess they were out celebrating and things went wrong.”

Pickett’s funeral took place on Feb. 21 in Brooklyn, according to News 12 Brooklyn.

Minaj confirmed the news of Pickett’s death on Feb. 18. “Two members of my team were stabbed last night in Philly,” she wrote on Twitter. “One was killed. They had only been there for two days rehearsing for the tour.”

Rihanna, who has worked with Pickett in the past, and Questlove took to Instagram to share their condolences after news of the stabbing hit the news.
