PEOPLE is expanding its true crime storytelling with the Monday night premiere of People Magazine Investigates, a new TV series on Investigation Discovery that will reveal fresh turns in some of the most gripping and mysterious cases in American history.
The 10-episode series launches with the story of Shannan Gilbert, whose 2010 disappearance on Long Island, New York, led to the discovery of at least 10 more bodies — and a possible serial killer.
Tracking the devastation of the victims’ families and the fervent search for justice, the two-hour special will include exclusive new revelations uncovered by PEOPLE’s experienced crime reporters.
“PEOPLE tells captivating crime stories every day across all our platforms, paying tribute to the victims and investigating the real story behind the crimes that shock America,” said Jess Cagle, editorial director of Time Inc.’s Style and Entertainment Group.
“Now we’ll be bringing viewers closer to these stories with a powerful show that elevates the true-crime genre and creates compelling television.”
