Police arrested 31-year-old Connor S. MacCalister on Wednesday evening and charged her with murder
A mother of five was stabbed to death by another woman in a seemingly random attack at a Maine supermarket on Wednesday.
Wendy Boudreau, 59, was shopping near the ice cream freezers inside a Shaw’s in Saco, Maine, when she was attacked, the Portland Press Herald reports.
Two emergency medical technicians who were in the store when the stabbing happened immediately began administering life-saving care. Boudreau was then transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died.
Police arrested 31-year-old Connor S. MacCalister on Wednesday evening and charged her with murder. “There is no indication the women knew each other, and police are still working on a motive,” State Police spokesman Stephen McCausland said in a statement.
The murder has left residents of the small Maine city shocked. “You never know what people are going to do what people are going to say or how they’re going to react to different things. You really have to be careful with how you are around people,” shopper Colin Esposito told WCSH6.
An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
