The body of missing University of California, Berkeley student Eloi Vasquez has been found, PEOPLE has confirmed.
The Los Angeles Police Department has issued a statement that Vasquez was struck by a car on the Eastbound 10 Freeway in Los Angeles on Saturday at around 2:25 a.m.
Vasquez, 19, was in L.A. visiting friends during spring break and had been at a Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity party near the University of Southern California campus. He told friends he was going out for a walk and never returned.
The 10 Freeway is several blocks north of the Tau Kappa Epsilon house near USC and is also elevated, making pedestrian access to it difficult.
Described as a good student who also played soccer for UC Berkeley, Cal Athletics said in a statement he was “a wonderful young man who has excelled both academically and athletically here at Cal.”
His family had offered up to $100,000 for information on his whereabouts, ABC News reported.
