A Beal City, Michigan, football coach was arrested on Friday for allegedly sending sexually explicit materials to at least five of his players, the youngest of whom was just 13 at the time.

Louis Michael Rau, 46, faces 12 criminal charges, including seven counts of distributing sexually explicit, visual or verbal matter to a minor; four counts of selling or furnishing alcohol to a minor; and one count of accosting a minor for immoral purposes, the Morning Sun reports.

All five of the victims claim that Rau sent them nude photos. One boy was 13 when he began receiving the explicit images, and the others were all under 18, according to court documents obtained by the Sun.

Two of the victims say that Rau also sent them sex toys. One victim, who was in the eighth grade at the time, described the toy as “a vagina with a tube,” the court papers state.

Police said the alleged incidents occurred between 2011 and 2015, according to Michigan Live.

Rau was previously suspended for slapping a player in 2006 after a parent complained in a letter sent to the Beal City School District, according to the Sun.

“The incident was witnessed by many of the varsity players,” the letter reads. “When I asked [the victim] about the incident myself, he said that, ‘Yes. Mr. Rau b—- slapped me.’ ”

The letter writer, whose name was redacted, also raised concerns about Rau’s “inappropriate behavior” with the boys.

“I realize that rumors happen, but when I hear my boys and many others talking with each other about what is going on in the weight room and practice it raises a red flag.”

Rau is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
