Steven Avery's Former Fianc e Calls Him a 'Monster' – Believes He's Guilty of Teresa Halbach's Murder

Jodi Stachowski claims to Nancy Grace producer Natisha Lance that Steven Avery abused her

She was one of Steven Avery’s biggest supporters in Making a Murderer but tonight, his former fianc e tells HLN’s Nancy Grace that “it was all an act.”

In the full interview, Jodi Stachowski claims to Nancy Grace producer Natisha Lance that she believes Avery is guilty of the murder of Teresa Halbach.

“Yes I do,” she replies without hesitation, claiming the reason is because “he threatened to kill me and my family and a friend of mine.” When asked why he had threatened her she simply says it was because “he was sick.”

Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey were convicted in the brutal murder of 25-year-old Halbach eight years ago, in the Netflix documentary Stachowski is regularly depicted as standing by her then-fiance, Avery.

But in this new interview, Stachowski now claims that the relationship was “abusive” and even goes so far as to describe Avery as a “monster.”

Stachowski also claims that she asked the documentary makers not to use footage of her in Making a Murderer and hasn’t watched the 10-part docu-series herself.

Lance presses Stachowski on why she doesn’t believe Avery is innocent even after he had told her that he did not murder Halbach.

“He told me once, excuse my language, all bitches owe him, because the one that sent him to prison the first time,” she replies (referring to Avery’s wrongful conviction for sexual assault in 1985 that he served 18 years for).

Stachowski adds: “We all owed him and he could do whatever he wanted. Steven’s the one person I can t trust he’s a monster.

Lance reminds Stachowski that in the documentary she said investigators had “put a lot of pressure on her to turn against Steven” but she now says she disagrees with that statement, saying “they were just trying to get to the truth.”
