Kesha Denied Dr. Luke 'Made Sexual Advances,' Roofying Her in 2011 Deposition
Asked if she ever had "an intimate relationship" with Luke, Kesha responded "no" in the 2011 clip
The 63-second clip features snippets edited together from a June 16, 2011 deposition with Kesha and an October 18, 2011 with her mother, Pebe Sebert.
When asked, “Did you ever have an intimate relationship with Gottwald?” Kesha responded: “No.”
Later in the clip, she says, “I know that Dr. Luke never made sexual advances at me,” and responds “no” when asked, “Did Dr. Luke ever give you a roofie?”
Pieces of the 2011 deposition first came to light when a judge ordered documents be unsealed in 2014, shortly after Kesha, 28, sued Luke, 42, alleging he drugged and raped her and subjected her to a decade of verbal and emotional abuse.
Luke continues to vehemently deny the rape and abuse allegations. “I didn’t rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister,” the producer, who’s countersuing for breach of contract and defamation, Tweeted on Monday. He continued, “Kesha has denied under oath the horrible allegations now being made against me.”
“Luke’s latest legal maneuver comes as no surprise; it’s a desperate Hail Mary and a pathetic attempt to once again blame his victim. He threatened to destroy Kesha’s life and the lives of her family if she didn’t cover up his sexual assaults in a 2011 deposition; Luke is now following through on his threats,” Kesha’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, said in a 2014 statement, reissued to PEOPLE Wednesday, that is regarding the release of contents of the deposition.
Geragos’ statement continues: “Unfortunately protecting abusers out of fear happens all too often with battered women. This case is about Luke’s physical, emotional and psychological abuse of Kesha and her fight to get him out of her life. After being driven to the brink of death and into rehab, she’s no longer going to allow herself to wither away at the hands of her abuser as he tries to blame the victim.”
Kesha’s 2014 complaint, filed October 14, claims: “[Dr. Luke] threatened that if she ever mentioned the rape to anyone, he would shut her career down, take away all her publishing and recording rights, and otherwise destroy not only her life but her entire family’s lives as well. He also threatened her and her family’s physical safety. Ms. Sebert wholly believed that Dr. Luke had the power and money to carry out his threats; she therefore never dared talk about, let alone report, what Dr. Luke had done to her.”
The leaked footage comes nearly a week after Kesha took a blow to her case. On Friday, a New York Supreme Court judge denied her request for an injunction that would allow her to record outside her contracts with Dr. Luke.
And as music’s biggest stars, including Adele and Taylor Swift continue to voice their support for the pop star, she took to Facebook on Wednesday, writing, “This case has never been about a renegotiation of my record contract it was never about getting a bigger, or a better deal. This is about being free from my abuser.”
