Justin Bieber has been accused of attempted robbery following an incident on Monday evening, PEOPLE has confirmed.

As of Tuesday evening, detectives were still vetting the complaint and had yet to decide whether it is credible enough to merit interviewing Bieber, according to Officer Rosario Herrera of the Los Angeles Police Department.

So what exactly happened?

Allegedly, the singer was at Sherman Oaks Castle Park – a recreational facility with miniature golf, batting cages and an arcade – with pals when he demanded a woman’s cell phone so he could delete any photos she may have taken of him, according to TMZ.

When she refused, according to the report, he retrieved it from her purse –and eventually gave it back to her so she could unlock it and prove she had not taken any photos.
