Beauty & the Beast's Josh Gad Pays Tribute to 'Unbelievably Kind and Generous' British Officer Killed in London Attack
The Beauty and the Beast star, who filmed the movie in London, took to his Instagram to reveal that he met Officer Keith Palmer while he was in the British capital and offered his condolences to his family. Palmer was one of five people killed during the midday attack outside U.K. Parliament by a lone assailant on Wednesday.
“@stealthgabel just reminded me that this man, Officer Keith Palmer, who was killed today while working at Parliament was the same officer who was so unbelievably kind and generous to us when we went to visit a few months ago,” Gad writes next to a picture of the officer. “I am sick with grief for all of the families today but particularly stricken knowing that somebody who was so personally kind to me and my friend could be murdered in such a senseless manner.”
“My prayers go out to all of the families who have been affected by this heinous act,” he adds.
Palmer died after an assailant careened a car through one of the busiest and most recognizable parts of Britain’s capital about 2:40 p.m. local time, hitting dozens of pedestrians before crashing into the gate outside the Palace of Westminster during Prime Minister’s Questions time. The attacker then got out and fatally stabbed Palmer before being shot dead by guards, the BBC and other outlets reported.
