Authorities have found the body of missing college student Jordan Britten three days after his disappearance during a spring break trip to South Padre Island.

“The body of Jordan Britten has been found this morning in a marshy area near Schlitterbahn [Resort],” a South Padre Island police representative confirmed to PEOPLE.

The South Padre Island Chief of Police will also hold a press conference Thursday afternoon to provide further details as they unfold.

The Central Texas College student, 20, was reported missing Monday after a small group of friends returned from the popular Texas spring break location without him.

Britten went missing after attending the Ultimate Music Experience (UME) 2015 concert at Schlitterbahn Beach Resort with two friends from his hometown, according to a press statement released by the City of South Padre Island. His friends made their way back to Killeen, Texas, but Britten was separated from the group, according to the news release.

Reports also revealed that authorities uncovered narcotics in Britten’s silver 2008 Mazda sedan found parked near the resort.

Friends and family continue to rally community support via the Help Find Jordan Britten Facebook page.

“Please keep our family in your prayers as we try to accept the news of Jordan’s passing. Thank you for all of your help and the love you have shown our family,” one member posted Thursday afternoon.

Britten studied aviation at Central Texas College and works as a server at the Killeen Olive Garden, his mother Ilana Britten told KWTX.

“He’s just a good kid, you know. He works hard and gets good grades. He’s personable. People like him. He’s just a normal kid,” she told the news outlet.
