Jack White is challenging his ex’s claims he is violent.

Following a restraining order granted to his ex, Karen Elson on July 19, the rocker’s attorney Cathy Spears wrote in response: “Mr. White vehemently denies Ms. Elson’s allegation that she is fearful for her safety, as well as the safety of the parties’ two minor children.”

Pointing out emails from Elson, 34, to White, 38, as examples of amicability between the pair, Spears goes on to say that after signing in support of the restraining order, “Ms. Elson left the children with White for 10 days and traveled to New York for a work/pleasure trip. One who was truly fearful of another would not leave their children alone with that person for 10 days.”

Also according to the documents, Elson allegedly told the exes’ mutual friend, Dean Fertita that she’s still in love with the father of her children and “I’d move back in tomorrow if he asked me.”

Adds Spears, “Mr. White does not want to be portrayed as something he is not – violent toward his wife or children.”

White and Elson wed in 2005, only to announce their plans to divorce with a lighthearted party in 2011 to commemorate their former courtship.
