A GoFundMe page established to help the three daughters of murdered Seattle-area woman Ingrid Lyne has raised more than $217,000 in one week.

The Saturday before last, the dismembered remains of Lyne, a 40-year-old nurse, were found in a recycling bin.

John Robert Charlton, 37, who told police he had been dating Lyne for about a month, has been charged with her murder. He is due in court April 27 and his attorney, Gordon Hill, has not returned PEOPLE’s calls.

The GoFundMe page was launched by Melissa Korda, who describes herself on the page as a local friend of the family.

“Ingrid left behind many that loved her, but most importantly her three daughters are now without a mother. It is heartbreaking to think of the journey ahead for this family,” Korda writes.

“As the family mourns, let’s all come together and help them financially raise these girls.”

Korda writes that all funds will go toward a trust being set up for Lyne’s three daughters.

Lyne was devoted mother focused on raising her children and on her career as a nurse at Swedish Medical Center, her friend, Crissa Franceschina, told PEOPLE last week.

“She was loyal – she was just a good person,” Franceschina said.

Franceschina said Lyne met Charlton on a dating site, though authorities have not said which site it was. The night before Lyne’s disappearance, they went on a date to a Seattle Mariners baseball game.

Franceschina told PEOPLE that Lyne’s ex-husband is taking care of the daughters with the help of family members. “He’s doing okay,” she said. “I think he’s definitely trying to keep it together as much as he can… The community is really rallying around this family.”

Last week, Lyne’s family released a statement, saying, “This weekend, a light went out of our lives forever. Ingrid, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend was taken from us for reasons we still cannot comprehend. Our hearts are broken and can never be fully mended.”

“But out of our grief, hope still springs, as does our appreciation. Words cannot express our gratitude to our communities near and far for banding together and expressing their support and ultimately their love.”

FBI Source: ‘He Groomed Her for the Kill’

According to court documents, Charlton was a homeless day laborer with a criminal record in six states including convictions for aggravated robbery, felony theft, grand theft motor vehicle, assault, and third-degree larceny, in addition to arrests for battery.

Charlton’s own parents took out a restraining order against him in 2006 in which they say he abused crack cocaine. He allegedly told police he’s homeless and said he’s “not a normal person.”

Local police are being assisted by the FBI in a wider search for possibly connected victims, PEOPLE confirms.

An FBI source told PEOPLE last week: “Not to belabor the obvious, but it looks as if this guy planned it well in advance. It looks as if he targeted the victim, he groomed her for the kill. As an investigator, when you see a murder like this, you know you are dealing with a very sick mind.”

“This could be a one-off murder, or it could be a serial killer,” the source added.
