A statement issued on Tuesday’s murder claims Morris called 911 after he allegedly sliced his fianc e s throat open. In a recording of the call, Morris allegedly tells dispatchers he “committed a very bad crime” and that he “killed someone,” the statement says.

A folding knife was recovered from the crime scene, the statement says.

Police allege that Morris told them he laid on the floor alongside Adkinson’s lifeless body for nearly an hour before calling 911.

Morris is being held without bail on an open count of murder. Information concerning his legal defense was unavailable on Thursday.
