A 32-year-old man is facing criminal charges in Florida after he allegedly violated that state’s new “revenge porn” statute.

Steven Ward, 32, of Geneva, Florida, is being held at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Sanford without bond following his arrest Friday on cyber-harassment and cyber-stalking.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Ward allegedly posted a private, sexually explicit photo of his estranged wife on his Facebook page, and then sent her a screenshot of the public post, in alleged violation of a law enacted just four months ago.

Authorities further allege Ward sent his wife a number of harassing text messages, despite her requests to stop.

Information regarding Ward’s attorney was unavailable Wednesday. He is expected to go before a judge on Feb. 2 to answer to the charges.
