Police in Doral, Florida, are looking for a 43-year-old woman and her 9-year-old daughter, who’ve been missing for more than a week, PEOPLE confirms.
On Friday, officers found the girl’s distraught father Gustavo Castano sitting in a truck parked outside the same Miami-area Home Depot where he told investigators he’d allegedly dropped Liliana Moreno, 43, and her 9-year-old daughter, Daniela, off on the morning on May 30.
Police claim Castano’s body was riddled with self-inflicted knife wounds. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment, according to investigators.

Detectives claim foul play is suspected in the disappearances of the mother and her daughter.
The search for the pair continued through the weekend, with teams of volunteers sifting through a warehouse, several dumpsters, a lake, and a number of wooded areas.
Officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the disappearances of the woman and her daughter and no charges have been filed in the case, a police spokeswoman tells PEOPLE.
Police have recovered Moreno’s purse, wallet and car, which they found at her Doral apartment.
Castano is considered a person of interest in this missing persons case, the spokeswoman confirms.
