Police were called to the couple's New York apartment Monday

Donald Fagen is facing domestic violence allegations.

According to police, the Steely Dan rocker, 67, was arrested around 5:30 p.m. Monday after a 911 call was placed his Upper East Side apartment in New York City, where his wife Libby was found with bruising and swelling to her arm. The victim, 69, told authorities an argument with her husband led to him grabbing her by the arms and causing her to fall; Donald was arrested and charged with assault.

Per court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee was arraigned in New York Tuesday and faces counts of assault and harassment.

“I don’t feel good … I’m very tired, and I’m divorcing my husband,” Libby – known for her 1968 covers album Libby Titus, a collaboration with Paul Simon and Carly Simontold the New York Post‘s Page Six.

Donald Fagen’s reps declined to comment when reached by PEOPLE.
