Since news broke that Kate del Castillo met with Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, she’s been surrounded by controversy.

Now, Castillo is sitting down with Diane Sawyer for an ABC 20/20 special and she’s answering the questions everyone wants to know.

“No, to be honest, I didn t think about it,” Castillo, 43, told Sawyer when she asked if the Mexican actress knew she was under surveillance. “I thought he knew what he was doing by texting me. If I knew I was being followed I would have never gone down there because it’s a lot of risk. Not only my life, but everybody’s life. ”

Continuing, Castillo admitted that she believed she would get in and out without a problem.

In the interview, she also faces another issue that’s concerned the public since it was revealed that El Chapo had a crush on her. However, Castillo insists that there was not a romantic relationship between her and the druglord.

“Oh, my God, no, not at all,” she said. “It’s just so not like that, and that’s one of the frustrations I have. That I wish I could have every single text that I sent with me, you know, to tell everybody how out of context they are. There was no reason why we wouldn’t be friendly.

“They have put them out of context. So it looks like I’m having an affair, almost with a guy. And that’s what makes me so angry.”

Sawyer’s full interview airs on Friday at 10 p.m. EST.
