CSI's Gerald McCullouch Attacked on a Subway
The actor, a boxer in his spare time, says he fought off his knife-wielding attacker
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation star Gerald McCullouch found himself caught in a real-life crime investigation when he was recently attacked on a New York City subway by a knife-wielding mugger who attempted to steal his laptop.
McCullouch, 41, told the New York Daily News that the attacker tried to snatch his computer “and dash out the door,” but the actor, who trains as a boxer, fought back by hitting the man. His attacker then pulled out a kitchen knife. “This thing must have had a blade 10 inches long,” McCullouch said. “The other passengers started running out the door and into the next car.”
The actor, who was not injured in the attack, said police arrived on the scene. A 39-year-old male suspect was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon, robbery and assault.
This is the second time McCullouch, who played firearms expert Bobby Dawson on the CBS crime drama, has fought off an assailant. He was robbed at gunpoint in Atlanta in 2001.
