Williams allegedly punched a store employee after throwing a pari of goggles at him

brightcove.createExperiences(); Katt Williams (né Micah Williams) was arrested in Georgia on Monday after a store clerk accused the comedian of allegedly punching him in the middle of an argument, according to reports.

Gainesville police responded to the incident, which happened around 11:30 in the morning at a pool supply store, the Associated Press reports. Sgt. Kevin Holbrook told AP that when officers arrived, Williams, 42, was “lying on the ground with his hands behind his back as though her was ready to go to jail.”

The report adds that a store employee told police after the two started arguing, Williams allegedly threw a pair of goggles at the employee before going behind the counter, where he punched the employee.

A representative for Williams was unavailable for comment when contacted by PEOPLE.

Along with his stand-up comedy specials, Williams has starred in comedic films like Friday After Next with former rapper turned actor Ice Cube, as well as First Sunday, alongside Ice Cube and Tracy Morgan.

Williams is also currently awaiting trial for an alleged robbery.
