Brown was taken into custody Wednesday and was being transported to downtown police headquarters where he will be booked, says LAPD Lt. Chris Ramirez. The singer was involved in a nine-hour standoff of sorts with the Los Angeles Police Department at his mansion after a woman called 911 claiming he had allegedly threatened her with a gun, according to the Los Angeles Times. LAPD police officer Tony Im told PEOPLE that officers responded to a radio call of a female screaming at 3:11 a.m. “It is an ongoing investigation, so we are waiting for details to come in,” says Im, who adds the caller was “somebody screaming and asking for help.” Officers entered Brown’s home with his attorney Mark Geragos shortly before 1 p.m. and detectives searched the property. Los Angeles police had been in the process of serving a search warrant after “at least six people in the house” were taken out Tuesday afternoon, Ramirez told PEOPLE at the time. “They are having people come out of the residence and then officers will do a protective sweep.” A rep for Brown did not respond to request for comment. • With reporting by JORDAN RUNTAGH
