Michael B. Jordan, Matt James & Tyler Cameron and More Celebs Joining in Protests Around the World

They are coming out to remember the life of George Floyd, a man who died at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer on May 25, and to speak out about police brutality and systemic racism throughout the U.S.

Matt James & Tyler Cameron

A few days before news broke that James is the next Bachelor — making him the franchise's first-ever black male lead — he and Cameron, his roommate and a former contestant on the series, attended a Black Lives Matter protest together in Miami.

"Its Everybody vs Racism #BlackLivesMatter," the commercial realtor wrote in part in the caption.

Madonna

Despite a knee injury, the singer marched in a Black Lives Matter protest in London. In one video, Madonna can be seen hugging a fellow protester and assuring them, "I've got the antibodies, don't worry about it," referencing the current coronavirus pandemic.

Jennifer Lopez & Alex Rodriguez

The power couple took to the streets of L.A. on June 7, holding signs that read "BLM, #EnoughIsEnough" and "LET'S GET LOUD for BLACK LIVES MATTER." According to Lopez, they made the signs with help from her twins Emme and Max, 12.

"Today I had Emme and Max make me and Alex a sign for the protest," Lopez wrote on Instagram. "Max told me a few days ago: 'you know mom, since you have a following like some of my YouTuber gamers and they ask us to support things and we do, you should do that for George Floyd.'"

"I said, 'funny you say that baby, I am planning a few things. Do you want to help by making a sign?' the singer added. "And they did!! 🖤🖤🖤 We talked about how if one person doesn’t have justice then no one does. That this country was built on the belief of freedom and justice for all. We must take a stand for what we believe in and fight against the injustices in this world. So we continue to peacefully protest until there is change."

Rodriguez wrote in the caption for his own post, "Los Angeles, we are proud to join you in peaceful protest tonight. We are proud to walk alongside you, and to share in spreading such an important message. Thank you for speaking up. Thank you for continuing to fight the good fight. Thank for you using your voices for good."

The actress made protesting a family affair and attended a demonstration with her husband, Paul W. S. Anderson and daughter, Ever Gabo.

She wrote on Instagram, "As parents, my husband and I wanted to help our eldest daughter raise her voice in protest as well and feel like a real part of this incredible movement for justice that’s happening all over the world in support of #blacklivesmatter. Because no matter how small she thinks her voice is, she could see the impact of her actions right there in the moment by the overwhelming amount of people cheering and honking as they drove by our little group standing on the sidewalk. How they were uplifted by seeing us showing up for what we believe. The smile on their faces as they raised their fists in the air while they went about their day."

She added, "I was able to show her how her small action made us all feel connected to something so much bigger than ourselves and maybe inspired others to take action too."

The singer attended a local protest with husband Carey Hart, who shared photos and a video from the gathering.

"Wifey and I went to a #PeacefulProtest with our local community today. Stay safe everyone," Hart wrote on Instagram.

West was photographed joining demonstrators in his hometown of Chicago on June 4.

In a video shared by a reporter for NBC Chicago, Trina Orlando, West stands as a fellow marcher yells: "We need everybody to stand where they are because we are going to march."

West also recently created a 529 college savings plan to fully cover tuition for Floyd's 6-year-old daughter Gianna, a representative for West confirmed to PEOPLE. In addition, he donated $2 million to support the families of and the legal funds for Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor.

Anthony Anderson

The Black-ish star spoke out about ways big and small to help the Black community alongside Cedric the Entertainer (not pictured) in front of the Hall of Justice in L.A. on Wednesday.

“Every one of you who are out here needs to be registered to vote,” Anderson told the crowd in his speech, which he shared on Instagram. “And I’m not just talking about the big elections, I’m talking about your local elections.”

The actress protested in London, and posted a photo to Instagram where she’s seen holding a sign that quotes the late novelist James Baldwin. “Dear America, ‘I can’t believe what you say, because I see what you do,” the sign reads, followed with “Black Lives Matter.”

Sprouse stepped out to re-join the protests in Hollywood, California. Two days prior, the Riverdale star was among a group arrested while peacefully protesting in nearby Santa Monica.

"We were given the option to leave, and were informed that if we did not retreat, we would be arrested," he wrote on Instagram. "When many did turn to leave, we found another line of police officers blocking our route, at which point, they started zip tying us. It needs to be stated that as a straight white man, and a public figure, the institutional consequences of my detainment are nothing in comparison to others within the movement."

Boyega has been outspoken on social media since Floyd's murder. "This just burns. Seems to be a never ending cycle. The murderers need to be charged severely. Even in the face of death this man was given zero empathy,” Boyega wrote on Twitter on May 27. Minutes later he succinctly wrote, “I really f— hate racists."

The new couple stepped out on Tuesday at a protest in Venice, California, to support the Black Lives Matter movement and to denounce the demolition of the First Baptist Church of Venice.

The First Baptist Church of Venice was built in 1910 and has been a landmark building within the African-American community — although its history is in danger of disappearing.

In February 2017, the venue was sold for a reported $6.3 million to a private holding company with plans to remodel the church, which has been unoccupied since 2015, according to LA Curbed.

She shared more information throughout the weekend, directing followers on where to leave much-needed supplies and sharing her own experiences marching.
