A bride-to-be and her sister, who were in Louisville, Kentucky, to celebrate her bachelorette party, are recuperating after they were stabbed over the weekend.
The women, who were identified as 27-year-old Sherrie Snader and her sister Melissa, were in Louisville from Cincinnati with a group of friends celebrating Sherrie’s pending nuptials, according to WHAS.
The women were returning to their room at the Econo Lodge when they were stabbed in the chest. Luckily, they were able to escape their attacker and call for help.
Both women suffered a collapsed lung, WLKY reports.
Kalief Cummings, 45, is charged with two counts of first-degree assault, according to WLKY. Cummings was taken into custody Monday after surveillance cameras linked him to the stabbings.
Sherrie’s father told WHAS that he didn’t know if his daughter would still go ahead with her wedding, which is set to take place this Saturday.
