Estrella Carrera Found Stabbed to Death in Wedding Dress

Police suspect the woman's husband in her murder

A bride in Chicago was found dead in her bathtub last weekend, two days after getting married, according to reports.

Estrella Carrera, 26, had been stabbed to death and was still wearing the cocktail dress she had on at her wedding reception, the Associated Press reports.

Police have now issued a warrant for Carrera’s husband, Arnoldo Jimenez, 30, and have launched a manhunt involving 32 law enforcement agencies and the FBI, according to the AP.

Jimenez is the father of Carrera’s 2-year-old son. She also had a 9-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.

Authorities have encouraged Jiminez to “turn himself in for the sake of his family and especially his children,” the AP reports.

Carrera’s family members became concerned when she failed to pick up her children last Saturday, a day after her wedding at City Hall, according to the Chicago Tribune. When they still hadn’t heard from her on Sunday, a sister called police.

Upon arriving at her apartment, police found Carrera’s body in her bathtub.
