Crime Bobby Brown Handcuffed and Led to Jail for DUI Whitney Houston's ex will probably serve nine days of his 55-day term By People Staff Published on March 20, 2013 03:15 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Erik Jordan/Retna It’s time for Bobby Brown to face the music for his DUI conviction. Whitney Houston’s ex was handcuffed and led out of Los Angeles court to jail Wednesday to begin his 55-day sentence for an October arrest in Studio City, Calif. But the soul singer may only serve only nine days because of jail overcrowding and time off for good behavior, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore tells the Los Angeles Times. Brown, 44, was pulled over for driving erratically and was arrested when the officer detected “a strong scent of alcohol.” He was charged with DUI and driving on a suspended license. Brown, who had married Alicia Etheredge in Hawaii in June of 2012, pleaded no contest to the charges.
