Betty White is being sued by a former live-in employee for allegedly not paying her overtime or allowing her breaks.
The lawsuit was filed by Anita Maynard Thursday in Los Angeles, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
Maynard, who claims she worked for the Golden Girls actress, 94, for more than 20 years as a live-in domestic worker, is alleging White didn’t pay her overtime wages despite working more than 14 hours a day.
The complaint – which was first surfaced by Buzzfeed News – also alleges Maynard worked six days a week but wasn’t paid an overtime rate for the sixth day of work, and that, since parting ways with White on March 11, she has not received all of her wages or vacation pay.
Maynard also alleges that she earned less than the legal minimum wage in the state of California.
Maynard is seeking the court to award her all wages owed, as well as penalties and attorney’s fees.
A rep for White issued this statement to PEOPLE: “Betty has worked with thousands of people over the years and no one has ever had anything but positive things to say about her. She’s someone who is kind to everyone she meets and remains focused on making others happy.”
