An 18-year-old student at Arizona State University was kidnapped and raped while walking home from a party early Monday morning.

She told police that she was on her way home when an unidentified man pulled her into his vehicle, then drove her to a nearby location and sexually assaulted her, ABC15 reports.

She managed to escape, running to a Chevron gas station for help. The clerk called Tempe, Ariz., police, who arrived on the scene at around 4:30 a.m.

The woman was able to provide a description of her alleged assailant to authorities. They located the person of interest later on Monday, and he is being questioned in connection with the attack.

“Thank you to a very good witness,” the Tempe police wrote on Twitter.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to call the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-8311.
