Andy Dick Arrested for Allegedly Stealing a Necklace

The actor was jailed in L.A. on Friday night

Troubled actor Andy Dick has been arrested for grand theft after allegedly stealing a necklace.

The former Dancing with the Stars contestant was riding his bike in Hollywood last week when he rode up to a man on the street and asked if he could see his chain, TMZ reports. The man supposedly recognized the comedian and handed Dick the piece of jewelry, and the 48-year-old then allegedly rode off with the $1,000 necklace.

The owner reported the theft, but PEOPLE confirms Dick wasn’t found until police located him in Hollywood just before midnight on Friday. He was arrested for felony grand theft and released after posting $25,000 bail.

Dick – who has had a long battle with substance abuse and previously been found guilty of battery and drug possession – is due to appear in court on Dec. 4. • With reporting by MARY GREEN
