Amanda Bynes Steps Out in West Hollywood, Is 'Doing Great,' Says Attorney
The actress has not been photographed publicly in recent months in the wake of a troublesome year
Amanda Bynes made a rare public appearance out in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The actress, 29, was spotted leaving West Hollywood hot spot Craig’s with her life coach. She sported oversize black sunglasses and a gray sweater, her hair still a bright blond shade.
The two first parked in the front of the restaurant, but they then had the car moved to the back, a source tells PEOPLE.
“She was quiet when she left the restaurant,” the source says, adding that Bynes took the passenger seat before the pair drove off.
The former child star has been in a better place after a turbulent few years of troublesome behavior.
“Amanda is doing great. She appreciates all of the love and support she receives from family, friends and fans,” her attorney David Esquibias tells PEOPLE.
Tamar Arminak, the attorney for Amanda’s parents, Lynn and Rick, tells PEOPLE: “She is doing great, working on her fashion design and staying focused on living a balanced and healthy life.”
Back in February, a family source said that Bynes “has her own apartment and is much happier. She and her parents are getting along and Amanda is clear-headed, more focused and has more independence.”
In October 2014, Bynes was treated in a psychiatric facility following a 2012 DUI arrest, a shoplifting incident and a series of worrisome Tweets in which she lashed out at her parents. She was also involuntarily hospitalized in July 2013 after another period of erratic behavior.
The Nickelodeon alum remains under the temporary conservatorship of her parents and is scheduled for a June 23 court hearing to assess her condition.
